Cinderella found herself at our school this week where our pupils were very excited to meet her.
The Friends of West Lynn Primary School have funded the Purple Dreams Production Pantomimes visits since 2016, and we have enjoyed eight of its shows so far - including family favourites Beauty and the Beast and Alice in Wonderland.
This year the children were ready with cheers and boos when they were treated to Cinderella, which had been adapted specially for primary age children.
“Purple Dreams always put on an entertaining and fully interactive pantomime for the children and staff to enjoy,” said Deputy Headteacher Nicki Maddison.
Pupils were also excited to perform their own Nativity - called ‘Everyone Loves a Baby’ which featured children in Years 1 and 2.
“We are very proud of all the hard work the children have put into learning their lines and the songs,” said Mrs Maddison.
The cast’s favourite song was ‘Please Stop Knocking’ and they appreciated the Shepherds who ‘were funny when they danced on the stage,’ they said.
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 all took part in a Carol Concert at St Peter’s Church in the village last Friday (13). All the children were also invited to a special Christmas Disco organised by The Friends and held on Wednesday (18).
